About

Anita 2012

My name is Anita, called NitaRaye by many family members, and ‘Nita by close friends. Crombie is short for my family name of Abercrombie. I grew up in Pensacola, Florida and then lived in Mississippi for a few years and then the Yorktown-Hampton Roads area of Virginia for 28 years. In 2006 I moved to League City, Texas and worked and drove in the awful Houston traffic for three years before deciding that was insane. I loved my job, had a truly good friend, and a beautiful home but the commute and traffic negated everything good. Virginia called me home and I now live and work in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

My dream has always been to retire in the mountains, in a log home. Well, I don’t have the log home but I get to see the mountains everytime I drive across town. I would love for my friends to come visit!  If you can’t, at least visit my blog and comment now and then so I know you are out there and still care about me like I care about you.

A few things about me:

I am a Christian and have a committed relationship to Jesus Christ.

I don’t think people are kind enough to each other.  We can’t be too kind.

I have an awesome job.  Unfortunately, I can’t tell you about it or I would have to shoot you.

I love to garden and am trying to gradually change much of my yard to edible landscaping.

I am interested in sustainability and am an avid reader of Mother Earth News and the Urban Farmer magazines.

I drive an all-electric Mitsubishi I-Miev.

I like to listen to Parisian Cafe Music when I eat dinner.

Most of the time, I prefer quiet to anything.

I don’t like clutter – not in my home, not in my life.

I have three cockatiels – Rikki Rou (just turned 15), Lucy Lou (almost 15), and Ashton.  They like to sample all my cooking.

I love to cook and try new recipes.
